Mission Statement
Kojote Motorsports, Inc. (Kojote)
targets a niche market. This is characterized by drivers who have
acquired a high level of driving skill and maturity in a variety of
venues including but not limited to: Porsche Club of America (PCA)
driving schools, SCCA, Historic and Vintage Racing organizations such
as HSR
or SVRA and a variety of other safety focused driving
organizations.
Kojote operates events
at closed road race tracks, primarily on the USA East coast. These are
driving schools, not a race or race preparation. Typical venues
for Kojote events are
Watkins Glen International Raceway, Lime Rock Park, Virginia
International Raceway. The aim of these events is to provide an
educational venue for advanced drivers. While there are many
other venues including car club (PCA, BMWCCA) Driver Education, car
club or vintage racing programs, open track test days, or personal
track rental, there are few programs where a small number of advanvced
drivers may easily share a track with the purpose of ongoing education
on safe, high performance driving.
Kojote provides a
unique environment where event participants may focus on this on-going
education. One of Kojote’s essential
missions is to create a safe environment for participants to learn new
driving skills from each other as well as from professional
instructors, and for its participants to learn about vehicle dynamics,
car setup, equipment alternatives, etc. from more experienced drivers
as well as professional engineers.
Event Participants
Event participants use their own cars and equipment. Kojote does not provide vehicles,
equipment or technical support. To drive in an event, a
participant must have pre-paid all applicable fees for the event.
Participants may bring guests to an event. Guests must agree to
and sign all applicable waivers for Kojote
and the track. Guests are expected to conform to all
Kojote and track
rules. Failure to do so will reflect on the participant who
brought them, including potentially being asked to leave the event.
Comparison of Other Venues
Open Track days are too uncontrolled. Test & Tune days are by
nature small (perhaps 5 cars). Racing is racing. It is not
a controlled, educational event. Traditional car club Driver
Education Programs offer some opportunity. However,
responsibilities for many of the advanced drivers focus on teaching
inexperienced or first time students. Hence, there is limited
opportunity for continuing education for the advanced driving
instructors themselves. Sometimes there is limited opportunity to
even drive their own car!
Kojote is not
competitive with PCA or BMWCCA Driver Education, PCA Club Racing, SCCA,
or
Historic Racing (HSR, SVRA, etc.) programs. It provides a
complementary program aimed at increasing the skill and safety of
advanced drivers. That increased talent will inevitably have a
beneficial effect on other venues in which they participate.
While some professional driving schools provide vehicles and equipment
for their students, Kojote does
not. Participants at Kojote events
should already be advanced drivers, not beginner students.
Participants use their own vehicles at Kojote events. Kojote does not provide any cars,
equipment, technical support, etc. for event participants.
